NES has been collecting bags since November 2015 and we will continue to collect bags until the end of October. So far, we have a total of 16,633 bags that will not be sitting in the landfill for the next 500 years. But there are still more bags out there so let’s collect them all. Please count them and bundle the bags in 9 and tie with the 10th bag or place 9 bags into another bag and label 10 on the outside. Send to NES with your child or drop them off in the blue recycle box that is located down the main hallway. We will be collecting bags until October 28.
Items that will be accepted: grocery bags, retail bags, newspaper sleeves, produce bags, bread bags, ice bags, bubble wrap, case over wrap, pellet bags, salt bags, dry cleaning bags, re-sealable food bags, and cereal bags.
Last year, Bag It Up Manitoba gave NES a planter box to thank us for our efforts.
Thanks for your participation,
NES Environment Committee
